Happy Friday!
What’s new and good this week? One thing that’s new and good is that I’ve decided to start sharing the Friday Favorites here on the blog again. I’ve been sending it out as a biweekly newsletter, but this way it’s easier to reference back to! Here are some things making me happy that I want to share with you this week. I hope you find them helpful or inspiring.
Home Goods
I realized I’ve been keeping something from you without even realizing it! Somehow I’ve never shared one of my absolute favorite spots for finding wellness products at discounted prices: Home Goods! Typically, when you think Home Goods you probably think home decorating. But the store consistently has a surprising array of awesome nourishing food items. Some items they frequently have include chia seeds, cacao powder, monk fruit sweetener, nut butters, popcorn, specialty powders (like ashwagandha, maca, and matcha), spices and a great assortment of tea and coffee. While you never know what Home Goods will have in stock, it’s worth exploring if you’re open to trying new things. Home Goods definitely have the lowest prices I’ve found anywhere – often up to 50% less!
Thrive Market
Speaking of my go-to stores for wellness products, Thrive Market is my favorite for natural and organic food and household staples at affordable prices. I place an order at least once a month. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite staples in a series of blog posts soon. To start, I’ll show the ingredients I always have on-hand for quick and delicious Asian-inspired nourish bowls or soups. I have those AT LEAST once a week, because they’re delicious, easy, nutrient-packed, and versatile.
If you want to check out Thrive Market, you can save 25% on your first order using this link. Full disclosure, since it’s a referral link I would also get a kick-back if you choose to use it!
High School Girlfriends Reunion
By far, the thing I’m most excited about is being reunited with my group of girlfriends from childhood this weekend. I’m fortunate to have remained close with an amazing group of girls since junior high. While we talk almost daily through a group chat, there’s nothing like getting to catch up in person. Our annual get-together had to be cancelled last year due to COVID, so this is long overdue. I’m excited to make them lots of yummy food and to stay up late way past my (very early) bedtime catching up.
Do you have a friend you don’t get to see frequently but when you get together it’s as if no time has passed?
Quote of the Week:
I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept. —Angela Y. Davis
I just started a new book, Hormone Intelligence, by Aviva Romm. It’s jam packed with awesome information, and it starts with the above quote. Mindset shifts like this that focus on change make such a tremendous impact on physical and mental health. I encourage you to reflect on what this quote means to you in your life.
At any given moment, I probably have at least three books that I’m reading. I love that within just a few hours, I can expand my mind to new concepts and soak up a summary of research or ideas that it has potentially taken the author years, or even their entire career, to realize and condense. I know I’m a nerd (to your benefit), but Isn’t that fun to think about?! What’s a book that you’ve loved recently or that changed your perspective?
I hope you have an amazing weekend! Leave a comment letting me know if you’re happy to see Friday Favorites back and one thing that’s bringing you joy this week. 🙂
